Do you sell a modifiable copy of your bowling system?4.008 / 24 / 2014

At this time, we do NOT sell a modifiable copy of the Bergson Bowling System. Here is the reason: as we continue to progress towards creating one of the best virtual bowling systems in Second Life, we want to provide a consistent gameplay experience across the grid. This can only be maintained if we provide (and set) the standards for the game. We will not offer a customized version of our lane system for you.

However, if you must be able to customize your lanes, there is a suggestion: The top of the scoreboard and the end of the bowling lane have adequate space for you to drop your own prims in front of them. You can then texture your piece, while still maintaining the design provided. Please do not set prims or overlays on the lane surface itself as this may cause an issue with your gameplay experience.

How to remove my name / score.for_v408 / 17 / 2014
You may request to have your name and any of your existing scores removed from the website and in-world score boards by contacting us in world.\r\rSorry we can not remove names based on ticket submissions as this does not prove the identity of the person making the request.\r\rNote: this will not reset your scores, just keep them from appearing on scoreboards.
Crashed Lanes4.008 / 17 / 2014
Bergson Bowling System 4.0 introduced the CCM which features a lane timeout function. In the event of one of your lanes crashing and becoming unusable it will be detected by your CCM. Rogue prims will be cleaned up and the lane will be removed from the available lanes list to stop any further players from using the lane.\r\rIf you find a crashed lane before the CCM has detected it, you may uninstall the lane manually from the CCM to remove the rogue prims from your land.\r\rIf you find that one or more of your lanes has crashed it is safe to delete the lane and install a replacement. Please also file a bug report and let us know what happened.
Error: "Your ball is incompatible"4.008 / 17 / 2014
Some users may receive the following message while attaching your bowling ball or while taking your turn:
Your bowling ball may be incompatible with this lane version.
This message means the lane you are playing on is running a different version than the ball you are currently using. We try to make all game updates compatible with older versions, but you can always ensure maximum compatibility and remove this message by taking a fresh ball from the lane being used.
My score didn't savefor_v408 / 17 / 2014
The system will attempt to save your score as soon as possible. In-world score boards automatically refresh every hour. \r\rIf your scores are not saving please check the settings of the lane you are playing on by clicking on it's menu and choosing the options button to view the lane's score settings.

How to Install Lanes4.008 / 02 / 2014

Installation Procedure

NOTE: If you have a previous version of the Bergson’s Bowling System (Bergson’s Bowling Lane), please uninstall each lane and delete each one. You also may want to check for rogue prims prior to installing your new Bergson’s Bowling Lane. To do this, please view the instructions for Cleaning Up Rogue Pins/Prims from the Bergson Bowling System.

[snip]
  1. Rez one of the Bergson CCM’s (either CCM A or CCM B - do not rez both). Please be sure to place this in a location that is easily accessible to your guests.

  2. Rez a fresh copy of the Bergson’s Bowling Lane from your inventory.

  3. Position the bowling lane into pts permanent location (this includes x,y,z values and rotation). Be sure that the lane is at a rotation that is flat (not tilting up or down), as this may cause issues during gameplay.

  4. Continue to place your other lanes at your location and set them into their permanent location. The footprint of the Bergson Bowling System is (5m wide x 25m deep x 5m tall). Typically, we recommend offsetting your lanes by precisely 5m (left or right axis). NOTE: Be sure to place copies fresh from your inventory. Do NOT attempt to copy from an existing lane. This may create gameplay issues.

  5. Once all of your lanes have been placed and are properly aligned, you must install each lane. Click at the end of the bowling lane (where the texture is) and select “Install” from the menu. We recommend that if you want your numbers to appear in order, start with your furthest lane to the right and install it at the appropriate max number of your lane. Work your way back to 1. NOTE: Be sure to let each lane finish its installation process BEFORE proceeding to the next lane install. When you are ready to go to the next lane, you will see text in local chat indicating that the lane installation has finished.

Example: If you have created a bowling center which features 4 lanes and they are all sitting side by side. Select the lane furthest to the right to start with (as you are facing the lanes, as if bowling). In this example, you will start with the lane furthest to the right and install it as “4”, then move to the left 1 and install it as “3”, then move left for “2”, and move to the furthest left for “1”.

  6. If using the Bergson Scoreboard, please drop it at this time and position it.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT MOVE (POSITION, ROTATE, or DELETE) A LANE WITHOUT UNINSTALLING IT FIRST. You run the risk of creating rogue prims and interfering with your gameplay experience.

Cleaning Up Rogue Pins/Prims4.007 / 22 / 2014

Cleaning Up Rogue Pins/Prims

NOTE: If you fail to uninstall the lane prior to moving it, rotating it, or deleting it - you will have some rogue *pins that are invisible hanging out in your location. Please clean all of this up prior to installing copies of the Bergson Bowling System.

  1. To check for rogue pins and ghost prims, please follow these steps:
  2. Enable "Highlight Transparent" (Generally, you can hit Ctrl + Alt + T, in most viewers)
  3. Your screen will show invisible/transparent prims in Red
  4. Locate any remaining bowling pins or bowling balls at your location.
  5. Right-click on any invisible/transparent prim and delete*.
  6. When finished, disable "Highlight Transparent" (Ctrl + Alt + T in most viewers)

NOTE:  DO NOT delete invisible prims from actively installed bowling lanes. You are only deleting rogue prims from lanes that you may have uninstalled.
