Quick Start Reference Full Player Documentation (Google Doc)I can't install the CCM. I keep getting WARNING: "Bergson Bowling" experience not enabled on this parcel. Add the "Bergson Bowling" experience to your parcel before installing lanes. We added the use of SL Experiences to v5 of the Bergson Bowling Lane. We encourage its use and have it enabled by default. The error you are getting is indicating that the CCM detected that the Bergson Bowling experience hasn't been added to your parcel, so the installation cannot continue. However, it can still work, as you have two choices - you can add the Bergson Bowling experience to your parcel OR you can disable experience at the CCM and then attempt the installs again. Solution: For Parcel Owners: Open the “Parcel Details" (About Land), go to the Experiences Tab, and add the experience “Bergson Bowling” (by xBrianx Bergson) to Allowed Experiences. [If the land is rented or group land, and you discover that you cannot add the experience, ask your landlord or group admin to allow you the ability to add it, or ask them to add the allowed experience for you.] If you are the Estate Owner or Manager and want the Bergson Bowling Experience to be automatically available on all parcels in your Region/Estate: Open the Region/Estate Details, go to the Experiences Tab, and add the experience “Bergson Bowling” (by xBrianx Bergson) to either the Key Experiences or then Allowed Experiences. Do not add it to both.
I purchased Bergson Bowling through a vendor (or won it in a contest, received it as a donation, etc) and not through the SL Marketplace. How do I get an update? All we need to do is validate that you are the owner proper of that lane and we can manually perform an update for you. Just send a notecard to xBrianx Bergson with some times that you are online OR a landmark to the lane (where we would have access to check it). Once we confirm ownership, we will drop a manual update to you.
Bergson Bowling has a built in foul detection system to prevent cheating. It is possible that another prim is colliding with the lane (in some aspect) to cause this issue. Look to your Local Chat to get the name of the prim that is interfering. In most cases, you might find that your building is poking into the lane or the floor of your building is hitting the lane. If these match the name of the prim in Local Chat, make corrections to your building or move the lane to correct. However, before moving your lane, be sure to uninstall the bowling lane. You might see an error like this in Local Chat: [17:40] Bowling Control Monitor: Foul by <USERNAME>. Ball interference by foreign object. (Non-Lane Object: <NAME OF OBJECT INTERFERING>) [17:41] Bowling Control Monitor: Foul by <USERNAME>. Ball interference by foreign object. (Non-Lane Object: <NAME OF OBJECT INTERFERING>) This happens when the ball is colliding with an object which isn't the lane. Usually the ground below the lane, or a wall behind it. You could fix it by moving the lane off the ground one or two clicks of the mouse. 1. Try raising the lane up a little. It might be too close or into the floor or ground. Your lane should not be flush against the floor or against a wall. In some cases, mesh floors have an extra physics layer that is invisible, and is above the floor surface that you can see. 2. Move the building up into the air or away (not the lane or any furniture or plants or etc.). See if the problem still persists. If the building is mesh, the physics shape area(s) could be bigger than you think. If the building is not mesh, make sure that the room is not made of a solid prim that is hollow. 3. Uninstall and then move the lane to the side, away from any furniture, plants, etc. Reinstall, and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, that means that some mesh physic shape is intersecting with the lane. It could be something as simple as an object's shadow prim, or the unseen physics shape of a tree. [Note: Setting an object to Phantom allows avatars to walk through the object, but the physics shape is still processed by the server and will affect other objects, as well as NPCs.] 4. Turn on "view transparent" and see if there is anything intersecting with the lane that you are not seeing.
As the object owner, you will see an option to "Swap Graphic" and "Test URL". Whoever doesn't own the object will see the graphic below, which redirects them to our help page. Swap Graphic is to change the graphic from showing quick instructions for centers that are using experience mode (on by default) or not using experience mode. That is what the Swap Graphic does. It just changes the graphic on the board to meet your center. Test URL will show you the text that a visitor will see when they hit your center. If you click on that, it will give them the link to go to our website. From our website, they can launch the official online manual. Basically, the go to manual, is our online manual. It can be quickly and easily updated and prevents us from having to update a manual with every version change. It's really if someone needs to get into the weeds of bowling. We're still working out a better way to handle that. A non-owner would see a pop up that asks if they would like to be taken to bergsonbowling.com/help - which is the location for picking up bowling information from Bergson Bowling.
At this time, you can update the bowling lane floor designs by using one of the Preexisting Installed themes. There is an alternative method, you could use a prim overlay with your own texture. However, if you are to overlay a prim on the lane, be SURE to make sure that the prim is marked phantom. If you do not mark it as phantom, it will be detected by the bowling ball and every time a ball hits that prim, it will be marked as a foul.
